You're an idiot. I'm from Vermilion Parish and even I recognize that New Orleans is one of the greatest cultural assets this country has. Do you know how rare it is for a city to have authentic, honest to goodness personality?

The whole shooting at cars thing is alarming though. Is this a serial shooter like out in Phoenix or just local kids doing their thing?

Either way it means it will most likely happen again (if true).

Is that what you call it?

Living in NOLA all of my life and visiting many places around the world, this is the most overblown and overrated comment.

Doesn't make it any more worse than if it were some kids from the 9th ward.

Either way, my city is crumbling. It's sad and dangerous.

That being said, the city has always been a crime cesspools, statues or not.

Removing the statutes obviously won't fix the crime, but I don't know how those two non related issues some how got attached to each other

Expenditure of funds in excess of $1M that should have been used for more pressing needs, but Quarter Moon has no clue how to reduce crime and isn't concerned about it.

Full steam ahead to DC!

1. I'm getting my family the heck out of there, I'm not going on a joy ride looking for the precinct after finding bullet holes in my vehicle.

2. After talking to the rude people on the phone I'm not driving an hour and a half to see them in person.

3. Why cant my local cops take some measurements and pictures and help me file the complaint without having to go back to the war zone?

4. Do they have camera's on the High-Rise?

5. If they can talk you out of another bad statistic then they are making themselves look better and preventing themselves from doing paperwork

damn, how old are you. The original Roosevelt closed in the 60s. Recent one didn't open until '09

1. Sure get away is always the first thing. Im sure they don't have flip phones and could have just turned on the gps in their phones and found a precinct pretty easily.

2. Expect nothing to get done. Don't bitch about it.

3. Does your local pd have people qualified for that? Probably not, a lot of departments dont, its expensive to train people. Most just use another departments lab and just pay them.

4. I don't know, but we'll never know because there was no report filed so there is no reason to go look.

5. I can assure you, they don't really care one way or the other if you file a report. Its not about looking good or bad. That carp is for politicians.

Does it say why their phones would only make international calls? Maybe I missed it.

Makes no sense that they'd drive to another state and then report it. How bout stopping in Slidell and calling the police or something? Not sure why they're upset with the police.

You must not have a family, I'm not bringing my family back to the war zone and dragging them into the station. I'm guessing the area around the station is worse than being on I-10

There are more reasons to file a report than just because you hope they are caught

I'm pretty sure the Hattiesburg PD have qualified people, most of the NOPD I have had contact with would be lucky to spell their name.

no reason to go look
because maybe get a license plate of a person that is willing to run around and shoot at peeps in the car.

I'm pretty sure their boss cares
