Nothing a-hole about it and one of the few times I agree with him. I'm day 4 and into my fifth house and while I'm ripping Sheetrock and hauling 100 pound sofa cushions someone close by has a pot of jambalaya and an ice cold beer.

Go support the fundraiser. But don't call him an a-hole for choosing to give back a different way.

Thanks martini. You and I rarely agree. I am the biggest proponent of fundraisers and the overpass area but if you have not been out to a flooded area, go and actually help. Your money spent on getting fricked up--you have no idea where it's going.

You are both being assholes by judging how someone helps. Maybe people aren't physically capable of ripping out Sheetrock and hauling couches. The level of judgement from people here and in the curfew threads is unprecedented. Shame on these people for trying to raise some money and shame shame shame on people for coming down and cooking a jambalaya.

You, the couch hauler, are the TRUE HERO of the disaster response. There is the recognition you apparently so crave. Better?

Here is an idea, quit judging others, do your own thing as you see fit and don't expect someone to pat you on the back for your contribution.

Are these businesses taking a cut? What will BRAF do with the funds raised? How much will actually go to those in need versus their operating expenses?

I agree. Sitting around and getting fricked up and stuffing your face is so noble.

I'm sure it'll make a huge difference.

I'm still limping from hauling shite the last 3 days and I have clothes that the smell will never come out of.

Beverages and Food that helps raise money for others sounds pretty good today.

Hit me up and I'll come pick you up to come help. I probably know you anyway. I need a ride to get my vehicle I loaned to a flood victim. Then I'm headed to DS to gut one of my staff's house.

Some people wouldn't ever go put in work. This is a way to capture those people and get them to help monetarily. Otherwise, they'd just be sitting at home

I always wonder how money collected from these types of events will be disbursed to those in need? Any info on this process?

Why does it have to be one way or the other. I'm on day 3 of pulling sheetrock. It ain't fun. But if I finish in time I'll go by the Overpass and support this too. It's not a competition.

All the money is given to the BRAF flood fund.
