That's not an email i would have sent without seeing it myself. Not saying your wife is lying, but be a man and go talk to the guy yourself.

OP - I totally understand your frustration, but having raised and coached 3 sons...you must not let this get to you so much because this is only the beginning. You will see in every league, every sport.

So you believe him about a t-ball coach getting irate with umps and other coaches, in a league that they don't keep score in? I guess he was pissed because the other coaches slipped the ump some money to ensure that their team would tie.

I can think of a few, but there were 10 times that amount when it came to Parents.

Yes, I've seen coaches act an arse at t-ball.

Oh, I agree with this statement, but I did not want to get off track with OP complaint.

I'll just say that I understand some people (coaches) can be a little intense, but I think this is getting blown way out of proportion by the OP.

After reading that email, it's obvious.

I'm guessing no, based on the fact that he started this thread.

I don't like the email touch. Wait until you can get out there and actually talk to him man to man. Email comes off as whiney for a situation you weren't witness to and may have been slightly different.

Just doesn't seem realistic that this guy randomly goes out and starts talking down to an injured kid, does it?

I'm still digesting someone arguing calls in tball. That should be grounds for a psych exam alone

Why didn't you just go talk to the guy?

The lesson you are teaching your son is that when someone does something bad, you quit and put your tail between your legs and go home. Oh, don't forget to send him a letter that will probably just get the guy mad instead of actually trying to change something...

I mean you talk about the decline of sportsmanship, but you can't even go talk to the guy, decline of basic communication is worse.

I don't know why no one has said it yet, but your coach is a p*sssy if he didn't take up for your son and tell the Cajun's coach to STFU and calm the F down. Just saying.

edit: p*ssy

I would say if you are moving leagues to avoid this then you will move every year. I've heard much worse in T-ball and beyond, which doesn't make it right, but that is the way it is and has been.

I played from age 4 through college, and am now in my 30's. This isn't new and while another coach shouldn't be critical of a player that isn't on his team, especially at that age, I would have just ignored him and moved on.

A random thought on the situation:

notslim99 - ok, if you are really not slim, just go over and kick the guy's arse

Thoughts on the email:

1. Use of wife in the email does not bode well for you. At least to me it indicates who wears the pants in your household

2. "stomped across the field" - come on, really? He stomped across the field? I would find some other way to describe that point in the situation

3. Mr. ____________ - if the guy is a coach in the area, I think you are better served by addressing him as Coach _______. Just a pet peeve of mine. The Gumps do it all the time in their posts calling the man Saban or Bear, when it should be Coach Saban or Coach Bryant.

4. The part of your email where you notify him your son will no longer participate in the league because of him should really be sent to the league commissioner.

As a former coach of bantam football, biddy basketball, little league baseball, I have one thing to say. Pray that your kid hurries and grows up to get out of those leagues.

Good luck with the outcome of this issue

Didn't the OP say he's witnessed this coach behaving this way in the past?

^^^^ This ^^^^ Life rule #37 - never trust a woman's version of a situation if obtained during a stressful moment.... always remember they see things as they WANT to see them, not as it actually happened. Plus, you look like a wimp to email the coach versus having a "word with him".

I would think that email would be have been better sent to the league officials. Their lack of oversight over the coaches allowed this to happen. So either the league officials suck or they are fine with it.

And as someone else said, your coach is lame. My coaches growing up always took our back when it came to other coaches or fans. And if an adult got out of line they were the first ones to step in and handle it.
