I recently came across an old W2 for the Wounded Worrier Project. I was a bit disturbed by how much the top executives are bringing home. I've donated quite a bit of money to the organization but I'm concerned now about how the funds are being dispersed. How do y'all feel?

I feel like most all of the big name charities are rip offs. I try to keep any donations local.

Very few charities that popular are on the up and up. High salaries and administrative costs.

An organization manipulates people's emotions and sense of national pride to guilt money out of them.
What else is new?

Sometimes you have to offer incentives to bring successful folks into your org to raise money.

Exactly. If they are doing a great job of running the organization, and doing a better job than other charities, shouldnt their employees make more? Otherwise they will gtfo

Man it's a shame really. All that money those dudes are making and we still homeless veterans.

Oxfam and the malaria charities seem to be the best run ones.

They had an article on one of the news sites that came up on my FB talking about WWP. I didn't read it but the highlight said it was about some shady stuff with their meetings and shite. Lol. Let me see if I can find it.
ETA - WWP lavishly spending donated money Here's one of them, can't find original though.

So WW should house homeless vets that weren't injured in combat? I'm all for supporting the troops but why should we subsidize poor decision making?

I feel like you are a big enough liar to work for a major charity since you definitely didn't just "come across" an old W2 because this anti wounded warrior theme is all over the Internet right now. In fact, it's on 3 different boards on this very site.

go to guidestar.com. You can pull up the tax return (form 990) for the organization.

I saw it on fb for the first time about 20 mins before posting it on here.

Nah, not really. And if they are complaining, they are uninformed and financially stupid.
I am a veteran (as is GT23), and I assure you I have no problem with how WWP runs its organization.

A lot of the donations also come from veterans themselves.

Did you copy this talking point from somewhere? How did you just come across an old W2 for WWP without someone sending you the information?
