Would you support state funded vasectomys?

If a guy wants to have a vasectomy would you support using taxpayer dollars to take car of that? To me the ROI would be huge in many cases, from both lots of children never being born that would potentially be a burden on state resources plus the guys now not burned with fatherhood could pursue other activities, starting a business or something perhaps.
I can't think of any downsides unless you're just of the opinion that abstenice is the only way or that tax payer dollars shouldn't pay for someone sex life, no matter the positive net effect for society.

The people you would want to get them wouldn't.

It could def be an incentive for convicts. Like shave a year off his prison sentence if he gets snipped. That'd be good.

Yes. I would offer a cash bonus plus pay for it. $5000.
It would have to be for everyone though, or it would be racist.
Actually, it would prob be racist anyway.

how much does a vasectomy cost?
Posted on 12/27/16 at 11:53 pm to DavidTheGnome
yes I favor government cuts
Posted on 12/27/16 at 11:55 pm to DavidTheGnome
Yes. There could be a tiered system for salary and number of previous kids to determine how much funding each person gets.
It would be well worth the cost in just a few years.

Yes!
I'd be all for offering big cash bonuses for voluntary sterilization. The amount the gov't would save would be astronomical.
The real money would be in getting women's tubes tied. A dick can do a lot of damage but if you can start shutting down wombs, you've really got something.

Not the governments job. I love the thought of stupid people not reproducing, but not on tax payer dollars.

Scruffy is willing to support cuts in other areas to push this.
No new taxes. Only through budget cuts.

Well if the government is already paying for the healthcare of pregnant moms and then for the food and healthcare of the babies then this is a practical solution

In the late '90s, there was a private outfit in Orange County, CA that was offering free (non-reversible) tubal ligations and $500 to women convicted of drug charges. They put up a giant billboard along the 57 freeway in Anaheim. Some folks were very upset about the social engineering/eugenics aspect of the offer.

Louisiana already has a program in place that pays for birth control, female sterilization, and male sterilization. It's a Medicaid program called "Take Charge". Going to be pretty difficult to find a urologist that accepts it, though.

I would support mandatory vasectomys for welfare recipients
Posted on 12/28/16 at 5:04 am to TigerChief10
Welfare incentivizes having more kids, and not getting married. If it wasn't so, people would have less kids, and get married. No vasectomy needed.
Posted on 12/28/16 at 5:28 am to DavidTheGnome
should be required for any healthy male on any govt assistance over 6 months. Immediate requirement to receive crazy check.

I thought this thread would be about forced sterilization for certain repeat offender criminals and for women with more than x number of welfare receiving rugrats. If that would be the proposal, the ROI on that money would be astronomical.
