I'm talking strictly about weather, not culture, lifestyle, ect...

Would you rather live somewhere with:
A) gorgeous spring/ summer/ fall but long , harsh winters, or somewhere

B) hot/ humid weather from late March to early October , but is very nice (for the most part) in the colder months

Waking up to this forecast for the next few days got me thinking about this

After my first full summer living outside the south, I have to say I prefer the colder climate. I always say you can put on more layers if it's cold, but you can't escape the heat.

This might change if I had a house to maintain and relied on myself for transportation. I've been at my sisters house in S Dakota during a blizzard and after that I know I couldn't do it living outside a large city

As someone who recently developed some odd heat allergy/fatigue I need the north, bad.

South, no contest.

The cold is miserable and depressing.

Hot weather sucks but it isn't depressing.

Pacific Northwest and it's not even remotely close. They actually get four seasons.

I don't become bothered by the heat until it reaches 95, and I get cold when it gets below 40. Easy choice.

Lived in Des Moines for 4 years. The winter temps were rough, but the worst part was that they can last through April. The low humidity was really nice

Southern. Cold weather naturally turns people into assholes, and it's an unfair advantage.

Pacific NW is one of my favorite places. Spending summers in Washington and British Colombia made me want to move there at some point

I've only ever lived in the South, but I like the weather. I prefer warm weather to cold. Besides, any snow means everything shuts down here. Up north, you'd have to drive when the roads are snowy/icy, no thanks.

I can't take the cold and get chilly in air conditioning. South for me.
