Is Joe pulling in 30k or 300k? Because their is a right and wrong answer based on compensation.

Fast forward a few weeks. Steve is nowhere to be found and he left the house a complete mess.

The house didn't just "turn into a big mess on it's own over night" Was Joe not smart enough to see what was happening and maybe I don't know do some cleaning and ask Steve to pitch in while he was around?

"Your friend" is a complete idiot and a slob, he should either clean the house or hire someone to do it.

Filthy animals.

You've never been on a pipeline through the middle of the desert of Nevada where the closest town with a single roach motel is a daily 2 hr drive to and from the job site. In those cases good companies will find a ranch house or something to rent for employees to share. Granted its not ideal but its better than spending 4 hrs a day driving and working 12 on top of that.

Sounds like the company knew Steve had a drug problem and, not only had your boy living with him, but also expect him to clean up after the junkie they’re (for whatever reason) keeping employed?

Company is sketch. Joe needs to get out of dodge before they ask him to do something illegal.

I'll pray for Steve. Joe needs to be more considerate and stop making this situation about him.

Get him on coke and he'll clean up after himself. Heroin junkies and drunks are dirty as hell.
Meth heads usually start out okay, but always turn bad.
If it's that bad, then he's a low functioning addict and I can't see why the company would want a low functioning addict.

Yes, I would be upset. Joe has a job to do and it's not to clean up after Steve and make excuses for him.

Who exactly is asking that this be kept hush-hush?

I'm so confused. Why in the world should you help clean up the dude's home? How is that relevant in any way to you (or your business)? Will ya'll be hosting clients there or something?

I suppose I could understand if they were asking you to tidy up his work area at the office or something. But his own home? That's his own damn responsibility, relapse or not.
