Such as a cabin in the woods or what not. Something that know one else knew about and you could retreat there whenever you wanted for whatever purpose. This would be a second home to the place you already live

And yes, I understand most OT ballers already own 7 private getaway resorts and mansions, this is a question for the 1%.

Depends on how far away access to everyday resources (food, toothpaste, etc,) are.

In theory yes, I would enjoy a remote abode

In reality, probably not

Yes, but I don't see the need to keep it a secret from everyone else.

Yes. I think about it all of the time. The only thing stopping me is schools. You usually don't get a great education living in the middle of nowhere.

A second home, sure. But for my primary home if going to the grocery store takes longer than 20 minutes I'm not interested

Yes. I actually have been thinking about taking a mid week "work" trip, which is basically renting a cabin and fishing a few days.

How remote are we talking?

If I were to buy a second home it probably wouldn't be in a remote location.

Beach, ski resort, or one of our favorite cities would be more what we'd look for

I'd rather own my own personal home than someone else's.

I assume you mean as a vacation home and. It a primary household. In which case I'd say absolutely.

But as my only home? God no.

If I had this I would go there and never leave. Except once a month for provisions.

Yes indeed...it has actually been a lifelong dream of mine to own a hunting lodge-style home somewhere outside of Steamboat Springs, CO. You could do fly fishing in the lakes & streams during the summer, elk/deer/antelope hunting during the fall, ice fishing during the spring, and snow skiing during the winter

I've got a cabin in Tee Harbor, which isn't remote enough for me.

Tee Harbor

Looking for land on Chilkoot Lake which is very remote. Want to eventually retire there.
