Would Social Media be better off if only .edu emails were allowed to register?

.edu or the official college email handles.

Did the world benefit or suffer once Facebook opened up to the general public?

In the wake of the Vegas shooting, we have some real special people voicing their opinions...

IIRC, when Facebook was new, you had to have a .edu e-mail address to register.

ETA: I'm stupid and didn't read the whole OP.

I remember those times. I miss my wall of pin badges. Maybe it was better off back then.

It was only good for like 7ish years I think. The original crowd becoming parents and allowing anyone to join turned it.

.edu or the official college email handles.

Good plan. Let's let 18-24 years olds be the official online voice that represents America. That should go over well.
