You cleary were off base saying attendance doesn't lie. Sorry actual stats trump your memory.

Those blackouts were in the late 90s, maybe even early 2000's. Recent history has had lots of support.

Don't be stubborn, you were wrong. His post refutes you completely. Everything you experienced back then was worse in 20-22 other markets.

How bad would it affect the Saints if for the collective bargaining that will be negotiated again in a few years gets the axe and profit sharing and salary cap gone?

Also if we had an MLB team, would our wonder keep up stint tb Jones at all? Our farm system would have to be on point

So you're just going to ignore the actual numbers because they weren't sell outs. OK. I'd probably move the goal posts to if I were you.

You're right, it doesn't. Here's a quote from 2005:

fighting tigers admitted that he was wrong, but on top of that, the Saints had sold out ~40 straight games just before the Katrina season. And that was a different era when smaller markets still saw blackouts.

I thought a sellout was a reflection of attendance.

Not everyone has a stadium the size of the Superdome either to get the attendance numbers.

It isn't a crystal clear picture for either of us to use one number to prove this point.

You're absolutely correct.

Zephyrs attendance, however, has not been all that great. I think that, couples with a smaller TV market, would shy off potential investors for a franchise.

I've been a season ticket holder my whole life and own the rights to the seats my dad handed down to me since having them from the first year.
Although I don't agree with the statement that New Orleans didn't support the saints until recently, the team was absolutely not supported well through the 90's after '91. The dome was sizably empty for many games.
Attendance had an uptick with the run in 2000 and stayed up through 2005

I just read that post. I was thinking you meant something other than attendance by "fan support." Top 10 attendance seems right.

LINK

This is the best I could find. At least 34 consecutive sellouts by mid-season 2004. So it's quite possible that, excluding the 2005 Tiger Stadium/Katrina season, the Saints have sold out ever game since 2000.

You're stretching the word "recent." I don't know about late 2004, but it's possible that a high school sophomore hasn't lived through a Saints blackout.

I remember some blackouts. I think a lot had to do with how big the dome is and that it wasn't a set amount of tickets across the league but a percentage of tickets not sold to a specific game....

Also if you look at the ratings for the metro area and even further out into Acadiana and aouth MS, saints games are tuned in like a mother fricker percentage wise

It seemed like he did in one post, but subsequent posts show him still fighting (LOL) for his incorrect assumption.

I've learned a long time ago that Saint's fan memories are very edited.

Had to search, last blackout was 2004. Is that right?
