Albert, I don't think you mean well. For the record.
But as to the issue, once I did something the wife did not agree with and Mrs. Füt was firmly convinced I was the stupidest person to ever trod the earth. While I was kindasorta wrong, there were extenuating circumstances so I was taking my lumps from her, but she just wouldn't stop referring to it. I suffered in silence for a long while but finally she said too much. We were alone in the car together, I was driving. I pulled off in silence to the shoulder and turned to her and looked her straight in the eyes and said "If I am so stupid and you are so smart, why did you marry me?"
(Sound of Crickets chirping for rest of car ride)
The issue has never been touched on again.

I've never called her anything but her name or "babe." Seven years and we've never had a real fight/argument. A couple of minor disagreements over insignificant things. We recognized them for what they were and, you know, handled it like adults. No need for name calling. Crazy, I know.
