Last I checked a firefighter was only making 26k starting for NOFD

They make in low 30s at firefighter rank, takes years to promote and pay doesn't increase that substantially

Pretty much everyone in terrestrial radio, except for those who have been in the industry for multiple decades, make next to nothing.
However, I would still be willing to be on-air and take the minuscule paycheck in a heartbeat. If you love what you do then money is just icing on the cake.

Here I am..this is a misconception though. Yes it might be accurate for the first year or two. But after a couple of years when you get out of the barracks, you start getting housing, food pay, and other incentives. Not to include free health and dental. So it's not nearly as bad as it looks.
