Gross but that's what you get for going cheap in NYC. A city notorious for bed bugs.

Nice gf. Until I saw the trashy back tat.

I agree... there's some shitty places in NYC that you get what you pay for... but in Manhattan that close to City Park... you shouldn't have to deal with that... the dude even says, "This isn't Brooklyn, this isn't Queens..." etc..

I don't know... I would be calling the health inspector on the spot... shite, I might even call 911..

When dude gets home he needs to burn everything he brought on the trip in his front yard. Before going in his house.

This is my protocol for the residents I am responsible for:

1. Contact EcoLab immediately. Allow them the opportunity to inspect and make recommendation.

2. If Bed Bugs are found, the main effected room(s) – we will need to move resident(s) out of apartment and preferably to a hotel that is closest to the community. We prefer NOT to move them to another location inside the community.

3. Try to eliminate cross contamination. Do they have a pet? Care services? If so, we will need to address those.

4. Inform the resident(s) they will need to have 3 to 4 days’ worth of non-infested clothing as they go to the hotel – with a good, fresh set of clothes on. When they leave, we want them to stay gone until apartment is cleared.

5. We shall deliver meals to wherever they are being temporarily accommodated. Don’t get real vocal about it, i.e. do not bring it up for attention with other residents – remain very professional and continue with business as usual.

6. If infestation is confirmed, check with health care provider(s) as they could be spreading it from apartment to apartment.

7. Be sensitive to resident(s) situation and be aggressive with treatment.

8. Provide time line with resident, POA, family members, etc. including transition back.

9. Typically, treatment takes 3 to 7 days. It could be quicker than this, or it could be longer and drawn out. EcoLab will need to address the adjacent areas and those residents are required to be out of their apartment for at least 2 hours.

10. Resident(s) in affected apartment(s) will need to throw away their box spring and mattress. Laundering is up to the residents, however, on occasion, we have done it for them in the past (do not use community’s washer and dryer) by paying for it to be done professionally. Same goes for box spring and mattress.

I am itching now. Currently staying in a hotel room.

Lol at the dude for pointing out that it's Manhattan and not one of the other boroughs, like bed bugs give a frick. They are incredibly difficult to exterminate and incredibly easy to transport from place to place.

A google search pulled up $50-75 /night rates. Would never consider staying in NYC at a place that only charges that much.

There are other videos of bedbugs at the Astor.

So, there's a lesson to be learned here. Always YouTube search a hotel before booking.
