Is rather be ripped like a girl than bowed up with a gut like half the guys you see in the gym.

I don't get why regular dudes get jacked for the sake of getting jacked. If you compete in BB or lifting, or in rugby or football then it makes sense. Otherwise, it only limits you.

It takes a lot more discipline to get ripped and most guys don't realize 90% of women prefer a lean athletic build to the bodybuilder look. To each his own though.

Hate planet fitness. Threatened to call the police on me for grunting at the end of my last rep. Is this thread from 9 months age? I thought OT's hate for PF was well documented, like for flat bills and black people

I guess it depends on your definition of "jacked".

It is but I would be willing to bet half the people here who rag on planet fitness(and give workout advice) have not seen the inside of a gym in years.

I guess. Skinny guys probably think I'm jacked, bodybuilder/strongman dudes probably think I'm a skinny bitch. I'm 5'9" 160 and lean/muscular. My main hobby is surfing, where weighing more than 170 regardless of height or body composition, is going to hinder you at least a little, if not greatly. I see these guys are like 5'9" 200 lbs (all muscle in some cases), and they can't figure out why their knees hurt so bad after pickup basketball. That's the kinda thing I'm talking about.

I'm 6'2" 230, surf since I was a little kid, and love pickup with no knee problems.

Glad to see you love dat broscience.

None of that is bro science. You live Louisiana, you probably surf a few times a year. Cool. I surf multiple times per week, and while I'll never be anywhere near pro, I take it pretty seriously. You are about 70 lbs heavier than the average professional surfer or even the average local ripper. So yea, if you were to ever take surfing seriously, you'd consider losing about 50 lbs (considering your height).

As for the other thing, joint problems are joint problems and your joints don't care if it's muscle or fat. Obviously that doesn't effect everyone, but it does some people.

Word. I'm about two inches taller than you are and about the same weight. I don't think I'm jacked, though.
