Missed that. I read the OP at first and then noticed 2 or 3 steel-toe suggestions. I missed him responding.

Still, I'd wear the CAT steel toes. Same style, same price, more toe protection.

Just remembering now, the guys I used to work with also liked the Timberland Wellingtons. They're slightly more expensive ($100-120), and they swore by them.

ETA:
CAT

Timberland

I would get a pair of Ariat work hogs and some socks that wick sweat. Last summer I would just change socks at lunch and I was fine.

I am pretty sure that Cat makes a fine boot for construction work and such, but in a situation where you are always standing on steel, it is a whole new ballgame. The wrong pair of boots are a waste of money, and can cause you problems.
I worked 30 years in steel mills, shipyards, power plants, I have bought the wrong boots before. Now I just go straight for Redwing sor Wolverines. No sense taking a chance.
As far as a piece of equipment goes though, Cat is the best IMHO and I have 3 different machines built by them, a 953 loader,a D3 dozer, and a small rubber track skid steer ( a 247 I think). If Redwing starts making equipment, I will still stick with Cat for that.
