I say Hew-ge and not U-ge

Hewge is correct. Damyankees think it starts with a "u" sound, but they are damyankees.

BROOK-haven (is supposed to be Brook-HAVEN , MS)

Picardy like Picker-dee.

When the crowd in TS does T-I-G-E-R-S-Tigers!, I always do the R like that Shirley Q Liquor character, Arrahh.
I never thought about it much until people around me noticed it and laughed.

100% correct. Its also favorable to say the Brook part as fast as possible. Brk-HAVEN

I bet most posters here pronounce "realtor" as though it had the letter "i', I heard "realitor" all the time in BR.

Another BR favorite of mine is "jewelry". The proper pronunciation is "jew-el-ree". Not "jew-luh-ree".

U-ge for huge is common for Mid-City NOLA folks to say.

It's more of an accent affect than a mispronunciation.

If everyone in a linguistic group pronounces the same word the same way then it is not the individual's fault.

I hear and read people swing and miss on the subtle differences between "passed", "pass" and "past". Chalmations especially have a problem with it.

Not sure if this counts, but I've said "anyways" my entire life. Went to college and was quickly called out about adding the "-s".

One habit I couldn't shake was mispronouncing "Aggies". I've always said "bitches", although I've got family members that pronounce it "gay."

I always read the word Zouave as "zo ah vay", or "zwah vay". I had never served in the military and I guess I had never heard it pronounced. That is, until I was ridiculed by a retired staff sergeant at a social event - old crusty bastard! "Are you trying to say 'Zouave' (zwahv)?"

For some reason I pronounce the letter combination "tw" as a "ch" sound... People always comment on that.

As for a specific word... I can't help but pronounce Krotz Springs as "Croch" Springs

Only laughing because I've never thought about it until now. It is Ber-KHAVEN. And the ber has to be spoken fast.

I've been corrected twice now. Once at the Adidas store and once by a German who laughed.

What would a German know about pronouncing a Greek word? frick that German and frick that snot-nosed uppity shoe store clerk. They probably use the starbuck-specific "venti" when ordering a large fricking coffee, excuse me, chai latte...

Jimmy Conner and Johnny McEnroe wore Adidis (ah DEED us), not AHdidis!!

I say Febuary instead of the correct FebRuary.

I don't know anyone that pronounces the "R" in February. I do it and get so much shite for that at work....so I make sure to emphasis the "R" a little too much.

the word "interesting" gets me.
I say IN-tres-ting. It bugs me when I hear people say INNER-es-ting.

It drives me crazy when I hear "Nuclear" pronounced "new-cue-ler." I know there's got to be a few of you out there that post on TD. Come clean!
