Based on my own observations, it seems that men have a better ability to settle in and make the best of things as compared to women.

Then they discuss it with their friends who pay $1,500/month in child support.

Women discuss this child support and alimony figures themselves. They know they have you by the short hairs.

Men see "love" totally different than women. The attachments men and women have are totally different, this really isn't a surprise. Men generally cope with bullshite in a marriage by cheating, or spending spare time away from home. Women by divorce.

I thought this was a well known fact.

Also, if she has a college degree, she is the one to initiate the divorce at a 90% rate. That is an absolutely staggering statistic.

Damn, she's going scorched earth on his arse.

I would think men don't do it because they are genuinely afraid of the possibility of the vindictiveness of the woman (and how that will cost them financially and with children) coupled with the long standing history of courts siding with females.

Women often should initiate divorce from a financial point of view. They can take half of everything and have the court impose alimony on top. The financial incentives for them are often real.

My guess is the percentages would balance out if the financial motive were removed.

I know that that's a saying, but unless there are some really hard feelings about the split it can be handled with relative ease and understanding.
