Meanwhile in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas..

3 men indicted on three separate homicides

Driver and passenger get into shootout, passenger dies

Wildlife & Fisheries agent shot during traffic stop, in serious condition

Some of you will go above and beyond to paint New Orleans as some lawless crime ridden city. Of course the city has issues but its not like incidents mentioned in the OP are secluded only to NOLA

I'm sure the apologists will be here to say these things happen in all big cities, but the reality is the city is falling into a state of anarchy

But it does unfortunately happen in other Big Cites?

This is not an event that is exclusive to New Orleans.

I will occasionally check out local Chicago news sites and it's amazing how violent it is in the south/west side of that city.

8 dead, more than 25 hurt in weekend shootings

Previous weekend: 4 dead, 33 wounded in shootings

It blows me away too. It sure seems that Chicago, the county, and the state would have enough resources to change that situation. I know they have no shortage of cops, etc.

I saw a documentary a few months ago that followed Chicago police for several nights as they responded to calls. There were so many shootings per shift that they couldn't investigate one scene before being called to another. Several times, they would be working a scene, hear gunfire a few blocks down, and then have to rush to that area. I can't imagine working or living in that type of environment.
