Do any dumbass conspiracy theorists in this thread remember that we tried to build a coalition of Muslims to fight Isis? That our number one theory was that it would take Muslims to defeat Isis? How in the God frick would a coalition of Muslims keep fighting Isis if Israel started massacring people? We have asked Israel to stay out and they happily obliged us cause it is no skin off their back, it distracts the Muslims from their fight against Israel.

How amazing would this be if ISIS becomes such a threat and evil menace to the middle eastern populations that the middle east turns to Israel to save the day and the Middle East goes all kumbaya

Supposedly Jordan has the same thing. Maybe not as good as the IDF, but certainly serviceable.

But with the Jordanians, at best, you have less motivation to fight.

If Israel gets in engaged, they know they are fighting for their very lives and that it is very, very personal.

The same reason they wont step to Iran (no matter how much the Saudis would love that) or move into Southern Iraq-- ISIS expands where they either have some level of actual popular support or they don't have to fight a real opponent.

You should probably look at a map of the region and what areas ISIS controls. Not much room for them to attack Israel. They would get funneled into a slaughter using the Syrian border to stage an assault.

I would like to see that..... Israel would do what this country won't do which is destroy them.

They've actually been moving fairly slowly and haven't really greatly expanded that much since their little blitzkrieg last year.

It would appear this is a smart approach though. The "legitimacy" of ISIS grows every day they exist and they are playing the long game. The game is to win more than you lose which is why they launch counter offensives immediately after set backs. The longer they hold the territory, the more they intertwine themselves into the fabric of society and put in roots.

Once they build a stable power base in their current territories, they can continually expand into more and more hostile areas with a more stable logistical supply chain as well.

I imagine long term though their leadership structure breaks down and some type of civil war occurs. Eventually there will be a disconnect between the local ISIS powers who are happy with what they have and the foreign + radical members who want expansion

ISIS isn't that far from Israel as you can see in the map. They've made their way to Egypt and further into North Africa far beyond Israel. It's not a stretch to think that a group who specializes in blending into the enemy to wreak havoc with suicide bombings and mass slaughters couldn't easily make their way to Israel thru Jordan, Syria, Lebanon for a suicide attack.

Jordan and Egypt (if discussing ISIS in Libya) would put up a hell of a fight. They aren't Syria and Iraq. Even Syria around Damascus would be very tough for ISIS to get through. Hezbollah in Lebanon also would be a very tough nut to crack. Israel is fairly well buffered right now against any land attack from ISIS.

Think about it...after ISIS's quick gains last year, they're been fairly well held in check by the underfunded and undersupplied Kurds, Allied airstrikes, and militias.

Next question: Why won't the United States supply the kurds with modern weaponry? I know the answer is Turkey, but Obama made sure in his first term that Turkey can no longer rely on the U.S. Therefore, Turkey no longer is a friend.

frick Turkey.
