More and more people each day are moving over to apple tv,chromecast, smart tv apps while dropping their cox, comcast, att service. A lot of this is due to crazy rates that many don't want to pay.

Let's talk about cell phone companies. The prices for these plans cost about an average of $100/mt I would say. Most of these new plans don't even include unlimited data and I've heard stories of people having $200 additional overage charges. Is there really any reason why we should be paying this much for a cell phone plan. I'm not expecting anything for free but I think $50 so a month unlimited everything sounds more reasonable. Especially, since we pay around $600 for that phone.

I'm one of the lucky ones and get unlimited data and minutes with my Sprint plan I've been having since 05--but my bill runs around $130 a month. WTF am I paying for and why isn't it cheaper than this. When I'm in rural areas my calls drop, as well.

I've looked at my phone twice since I started reading your post. My guess would be never.

Personally, I know lots of people dropping their cable tv providers and moving to chromecast, apple tv ect. Maybe a generational thing though.

You're talking about two different things. I don't know of many people streaming full time over their mobile network. Over their wired internet? More and more, and it is cannibalizing the cable and satellite providers.

Pretty much what I'm saying is when will cell phone company monthly prices cap out. I use people moving from live streaming with alternative media devices instead of digital cable as an example.

I'm ranting out my high monthly cell phone bill. I know it's all about me, but I'm sure many of you feel the same way about paying for crazy prices for cell phone each month.

Work does not pay for my cell phone, I know, NF...

Couple of options for ya:

-Get together with friends and get a family plan (but make sure it doesn't involve SO, cause then you'll get stiffed)

-Go to Sprint. They are cutting rates in half

-Go without. Nobody wants to be on a group texts of your tinder conquests anyway

I do. I get a small discount b/c of my employer, but still pay ridiculous monthly charges. 95% of the time, I am on wifi. I get nowhere close to my money's worth. I get much better value from my cable subscription. Alternatives are limited; once my contract expires, I will start looking at pre-paid options.

At the current rate of decline, it would take traditional cable decades to die. There are still 100 million households with cable in the US and only 11 million with no cable
