Anyone know a good breeder reasonably close to the Louisiana area?

Good looking dogs, do they shed?

They do not and they are also hypoallergenic.

How is their temperament? My next dog is probably a labradoodle

It´s a damned good looking dog, in a strange way.

Had a German Wirehaired Pointer years ago - great dog. Got her from a friend of my brother's in Florida.

Try checking NAVHDA - North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association. Someone there may be able to point you in the right direction.

Good Luck!

Check the outdoor board, there are a few posters that have them.

I don't like the full shaggy look, but they're good dogs. I have a 11month German Wirehaired Pointer (Deutsch Drathaar)and he's a great companion. Pretty high energy but not hyper if that makes any sense. Born and bred to hunt and is a very unique dog. His name is Fitz.

Good looking dog, Pogey. I personally like the shaggier look and the Griffon is smaller than the Drathaar which is also an added plus for me.

Thanks for the information everyone. I'll let y'all know if I am successful in finding one. Most of the breeders I have seen have been in the north or the east coast.

Good luck. There's a guy on the OB that recently brought his young Griffon pup to North Dakota to do some bird hunting but I never heard back from him.

There is actually no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog or cat.

Most breeders will tend to be in the N/NE but don't let that discourage you from getting the pup you want
