You've got to figure at some point someone is going to stop LSU from getting Tigers. I hope I never see that day.

I couldn't disagree with you more. LSU's Tiger Habitat and veterinary service is perhaps the most humane way to support a captive tiger.
Mike VI was picked up from an exotic animal refuge. These captive cats already exist and need a place to live, we are simply moving one to our world class facility.
There were SJW's the last time but their protestations couldn't get any traction due to the perfect way LSU handled the choosing of a new Mike.
FKA knows that Mike is crucial part of the LSU identity. He will ride that public sentiment in supporting another Mike.
SJW's may make noise but they won't be able to affect change

My 2 Cents on this...
1 of the following 2 scenarios would have to happen for LSU not to have a live Tiger mascot..
1) Some law would have to be passed that would prevent it.
2) The influence of the Alumni would have to dictate the cessation of this tradition.
Until then we will have a live mascot.

Which one got out it's cage one night and roamed the campus for awhile? Mike V? I think it was in the 80's maybe.
