Will the statues being removed be replaced with modern art?

Frick me if so. I love the look of these old statues, especially the equestrian ones. Symbolism aside, the aesthetic quality of them looks great. Especially when they form a nice patina over the years, and it just doesn't seem like the time/skill/effort is put into sculptures like they used to.

We are going to lose some really great art and what worries me is that in its place they are going to throw up some modern art. Instead of a dignified bronze statue we'll get a talentless abomination.

I'm a fan of the stacked up picnic tables at the corner of Dave and Busters. Much vision. Very art.
