Just curious as to how this would work. I do not own one but I'm seriously considering it due to all that's going on. Any suggestions on a make and model?

Assault rifles are already banned. Semi automatic rifles that are painted black, with collapsible stocks, pistol grips, and flash hiders are not.

Educate yourself on the guns and their workings before you purchase. Be a responsible owner.

I hope so. I'd hate to tell my son that the Marlin .22 I handed down to him like this one....

...will now have to be turned into the police.

And my 7 yr old daughter will be devastated to find out her Ruger .22 Plinkster that Santa brought her this past Christmas will likewise have to go.

Do like i did.. Buy a Saiga 12 gauge with a 20 round drum mag from a random mechanic in Louisiana with absolutely no paper trail..

Then take it out on a boat, have a boating accident, lose the gun.

They will have to grandfather in existing stocks which makes the entire idea of an effective AWB a hilariously stupid concept (then again, look at the people who are asking for one). If you want one, wait a bit for the usual suspects to stop hyperventilating. No point in buying one when the prices temporarily surge, get a solid direct-impingement carbine-style from Colt, S&W, Ruger, RRA, Stag, etc. That way you'll have a solid platform from which to work on later if you choose and have a good, reliable shooter for years.

How will they know that anyone has a gun unless they are dumb enough to tell the gov't? There is no federal registry of gun owners.

You're either ignorant or a troll trying to use the old "let's talk as if this topic is already settled(even though it's far from it) so everyone gives up" post

So, how did you answer the question: Are there any guns in the home?

Wtf? I was asking a serious question. Would the govt come and seize the weapons or would current owners be grandfathered in. What's got your panties in a wad?
