Seriously, can anyone give me a real answer, as to why weed is still illegal in this country? A requirement to be employed at a lot of places, is to have zero traces of marijuana in your system. That’s such BS. You’re telling me, I can’t smoke a plant in my own free time, but I can OD from alcohol in one sitting, and it’s totally fine? shite, I can crack open a few beers with the guys, in the contractor parking lot on my way out, no problem. Or shoot, I can be high on pain pills, but because a doc says it’s ok, then it’s perfectly safe, even though those pills will probably turn me into a heroin addict one day.

Btw, I don’t blame companies or businesses for drug testing for weed. They have their hands tied behind their backs, and have to follow every rule and regulation, or they would get sued like crazy. But it’s beyond time for this shite to be legal now. We’re losing so many workers because they have weed in their system, and this is not the time to be letting people go, for little shite like smoking weed during your own free time. It’s not like people are blowing down at work. Who cares what you do when you’re not at work? We need workers. Who tf cares about weed anymore?

Neither side wants to let the other side be the ones who get to say they legalized it and bipartisanship only exists when funneling our money overseas.

Republicans must be in control of your state legislature.

Because the federal government can’t get their shite together to decriminalize it. Any effort to do so on a federal level has typically passed the House and died in the Senate.

Big Pharma and alcohol lobbyists own politicians on both sides. They won't allow it because they can't make money on a plant you can grow in your back yard.

They are, but the Democrats in our states legislature are no different than them. They don’t want that shite legalized either. We even have a Democrat Governor, who does not support recreational use. We have the strangest Democratic politicians in the entire country.

The legal status of marijuana has zero to do with a private organizations drug and alcohol policies.

You do realize that even if the govt legalizes weed companies can still have a zero tolerance policy

Kentucky raises their beer.

They can’t even agree to allow medical and brag about having the “strongest restrictions” in the country for any bill they present. It’s insane.

But it doesn’t though, at least no more than alcohol affects you at work the next day.

Old conservatives and Dixiecrats. For some things you just have to wait for people to die off as they are set in their ways

But it being on the schedule 1 drug list, forces private companies and businesses to have to drug test for it, otherwise lawsuits out the arse. At least that’s my understanding, is that removing it, a lot of companies won’t test for it anymore. Now I can tell you, Louisiana will probably still enforce the zero tolerance for it at work thing that they already have in place on these companies.

Because Louisiana has not found a way to funnel most of the money made off it to the legislature yet.
