Why is November through January the most overcast months of the year in Louisiana?

ELI5.

This constant steady stream of gloomy clouds and bleak skies everywhere and not even one hint of clear blue skies and bright sun for more than 5 minutes gets fricking old.

If I wanted that everyday, I'd move to Seattle.

Hey everyone who wants colder weather, this is what you also get with that package.

I'd rather hot and sweaty if means clear blue skies and bright sun as opposed to cold and rainy with gloomy and depressing skies everywhere all day.

When I was in high school in lake Charles it was overcast and rainy for a couple weeks.
The sun broke through when I was in the hallwAy sneaking out of library to get in line for lunch. The whole school erupted in loud cheers.

It's like this everywhere. In summer, the heat makes clouds rise vertically, hence thunderstorms, etc.
In winter, it's the opposite, clouds grow more horizontally.
Hence, it appears cloudy more often.

What’s odd is how wet it’s been. October is historically the driest month of the year in Louisiana.

Schmelly, I highly doubt you would have the wherewithal nor the piss and vinegar to say that to my face.
