Of course it is. You must have been an English major.

whatever reason I don't consider Sonic in the same segment as BK, McDonald's, Whataburger, etc.
Sonic is its own brand. I have had good luck there, with the exception of the one in Milton, FL. frick those Inland-FL trash, tweaker MFers. I wish I could burn that shithole to the ground.

Has not been my experience at all here. Everyone here loves spicy food...but it's gonna be Mexican type spicy, not Cajun spicy.

For the most part the quality of food is going to be subjective, but in general McDonald's and Wendy's are on the same level, at best. Serving a baked potato doesn't mean they're classy.

What about a broccoli-cheese baked potato? I eat it with my pinky raised and everything.

I don't eat Whataburger much...but I can agree that is pretty good.

It's the service...its horrible and most of the time it's illiterate workers who can't even get an order right or they choose not to work and just sit in the store, leaving u in car line in hopes you leave or give you the "we are out" of that item....the bk near my house is horrible...seriously...my order got messed up 4 dif times in a row...I called the number, the person seemed to joke and not take seriously so I hung up...never went back....now I cross the road and go to mcdonalds...

I have always wondered why they charge $7.29 for a small combo meal instead of the advertised on the sign $6.89

GOAT
A Whataburger is also great. Lettuce, onions, pickles, MUSTARD. They do it right.

My experience in the Phoenix area has been really good Mexican, or Applebees type chains. A slice of Generica.

Meh, Walk On's gets unreasonable hate IMO. If you're comparing it to other restaurants, you're doing it wrong. However, if you compare it to other sports bars, it is definitely in the upper echelon. Solid draft beer choices and legit bar foods. I'm not going to give it hell because the pasta is subpar or some other quip.

One of the few FF places in Bham that I will actually go in and eat at. They deliver your order to your table and check on you at least once while you're eating to make sure everything is good. Not white tablecloth, but closer than any of the others come.

It's almost universally true that the more franchised a company gets the worse the service gets.
BK is also notorious for its franchisees "rebelling" against corporate directives and menu changes.

Then you missed out. There are many good non-chain, non-Mexican restaurants in Phoenix. Obviously Scottsdale has a better variety though.
There are lots of chains in Phoenix, but it's your own fault if you are going to a chain when a little research will easily steer to a better non-chain option. There has been an explosion of brewpubs opening out in the PHX Metro area in the last few years. Plenty that serve great food and great local beer.
But I know what you mean....people on the west side of Phx love their chains. They also love violence and meth so go figure. My sister in law lives wayyyy past Glendale in Goodyear. Her restaurant of choice for her bday last year. Olive fricking Garden of all places
