People that try to say the term "Chinaman" is Somehow derogatory are mad. There are numerous direct examples of other nationalities called the same thing, this has always bewildered me.

Mr ruby, who the hell cares?

Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature

Personally I prefer Charlie but that's just me

It is the historical context and the connotation in which it was used in the past. Also, way back when, I think it was used toward virtually all Asians, even the ones who were not Chinese. This isn't rocket appliances.

My father fought all over the South Pacific and had 7 bullet holes to prove it. He called them Chinks and Japanese Japs.
And never once in his 90 years did someone tell him to stop.

Engliman Irishman, and Scotsman, are not preferred nomenclature? Of course they are and often times said with pride.
Posted on 5/30/16 at 9:04 pm to Jack Ruby
Because they are proud to be Englishmen and Frenchmen?

Um,!indont think so. Not recently. Maybe 15-20 years ago but it might have been more common but the englishblanguage is expanding at an incredible rate. It's proper to just say Irish or British, or Welsh.
