. . . you know why

quote:

A massive brawl broke out at a mall in Orange Park, Florida, leading to the arrest of five individuals. A video of the fight between up to 60 teenage girls was shared to Facebook on Saturday, according to CBS. The video was viewed more than 500,000 times before it was removed from the platform.

quote:

Young women can be seen kicking and punching each other in the footage of the altercation, with many of them appearing to wear matching shirts with an airbrushed design. Most of the people involved appeared to be teenagers, but at least one adult may have been involved, according to an account a parent of one of the arrested teens gave CBS. Her 15-year-old daughter was arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer, but the mother said her daughter was actually a victim.

quote:

'[The aggressors] were walking around the mall bullying my daughter and her friends' she said. 'My daughter and her friends were minding their own business when the adult started pick on them and saying stuff. The adult spit in my daughter's face.' The mother, who said her daughter was beaten while on a couch at the Orange Park Mall, also said her teenager and her friends did not know the other women involved in the attack. 'The safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees is our top priority,' John Westbrook said. 'We are working closely with the Clay County Sheriff's Office as they investigate this incident.'

And stuff like this confirms the downfall of malls in America

Why go out amongst the common folk when I can have anything I want delivered directly to my door?

any place that is free to enter, and is cool enough to draw in people who would usually spend the day hanging out in the street is probably not the best place to spend your time...

Not one shopping bag in sight. These non-shoppers that just use the mall as a loitering spot are why actual shoppers stay away and go online

There are certain demographics that ruin everything that is nice, and turn it to shite

Malls suck, it's nothing new. I go only to crawl the speed bumps in my Wrangler.

What's fascinating to me about malls is $1/hour of parking clears up all the riff raff. In houston, you go to the galleria on the weekends and its an utter zoo, the inner city floods the mall and kids have quincaneras or however you spell it. Obviously its free to park

I go down to Miami and Bal Harbour is one of the nicest malls in America and there are no kids loafing around and no hooligans there, I dont know if its bc of the nice stores or the $1.50 per hour parking but whatever their recipe is, other malls should follow it bc its almost made me enjoy going to the mall again.

in the South you can no longer have free public space in cities

you must charge a fee in order to keep certain elements out

why go to a mall and have to deal with all of the saggy pant, straight billed hat, wanna be thugs when you can have anything you need from Amazon in a few days.

You joke, but cell phones and social media have made having a standard spot to meet up, which malls served as for many teens from the 70's-early 2000's, obsolete.

Makes sense to me. Hell, make it $10 but every store in the mall will hand out parking validation if you make a purchase.
