I know it is a magnet school, but other magnet schools have baseball, football, and basketball.

BRHS produced one of the greatest running backs in NFL and LSU history, Hall of Famer Jim Taylor. I know this was well before it was a magnet school.

Yes but are the other schools 100% magnet?

When Scotlandville Magnet High was 100% magnet they didn't have sports (except soccer)

it wouldn't be money... They could definitely afford it and would have support.

It has more to do with the kids they want to attend the school

They are admittance by application only. No district, no big 3 sports.

Too many Asians for a good football team so they don't have one

Hard to imagine a 100% magnet school would field competitive teams in those sports. Your mentally gifted and talented kids don't tend to be the most athletic.

They always have a great Cross Country both boys and girls and a competitive track team indoor and outdoor. And a good Tennis team as well.

As a school they decided that football was too homophobic and they chose soccer instead

Magnet schools are concepts created by politicians. Even if the students wanted to play football they'd never allow it as this would upset the prevailing attendance calculus.

You're going to see in the next few years more HS dropping football because of health risk. BRHS should have a baseball and basketball team, imo.

Bob Pettit also went there and was one of the best players in LSU and NBA history.
