The incompetence of local government knows no end. Had all summer to get its shite together in the LSU area and construction never seems to start until a week before school starts

Nicholson is apocalyptic, west Parker is closed, Ben Hur cut through to river road is closed, rabble rabble

frick the government

It's usually the beginning of the dry season.

Typically can't pave when it's cold, or raining.

I'm definitely with you on this one. They started west Parker in July and it looks like they haven't gotten anything done since they ripped up the trees. It's literally stupid with a huge dose of incompetence. Just wait until LSU/BR is forced to cough up the funding for Nicholson Dr. and turn it into 4-lanes

That shite may take 5 years.

Road construction is ongoing, but they wait until school begins to start it in areas with heavy school traffic so that kids can learn to hate traffic too. LOL

^^^^^ this

with too much rain its harder to get it to bond or stick properly and you get divots or holes breaking out not too long after its done.

plus when its hot, it lays out smoother and easier and they have longer time before the asphalt cures to smooth it out.

when you see or feel the line between old and new asphalt, its "usually" from the asphalt cooling down too fast before it can be pressed into a seamless bond

Another if the reasons is because the physical year of new money turns over in July every year. I used to work for DOTD and we would always be super slow until the end of July into August and we would start doing all kinds of shite everywhere
