Next time they really want to do something with you, cancel via text at the last minute.

That is not a friend, that is an a-hole. Move on, life is too short to worry about assholes and their antics....

Seems like we are more likely to flake on plans now. Cell phones have made this easier to do.

I can remember when not everyone had a cell phone....when you made plans you kept them cause you had no way to cancel last minute.

Now it's too easy to text a few hours before...."sorry something came up"

ETA: I do fricking hate when people do this shite. I don't make plans unless I plan to keep them. Flaking shows a total lack of respect to the other person's most valuable thing....their time.

If they're doing this multiple times and not inviting you to the "something else" it means they don't want you hanging out with them.

Isn't that weird? Like why do people do that? Just fricking respond and say no ican't go or no i want to lay in bed all day in my pjs and eat in bed.

In all honesty, if its a social event or gathering of some people I don't know, I will flake. Social anxiety is a mother

Also always have to protect against worlds colliding

But you can do that without committing to anything first. Flakes suck and I've never found a problem telling someone I just really don't want to do that or commit to that.

Sometimes the idea of doing something gets me excited, I make plans and then when it comes time to actually doing it.... Well, the idea of doing it was more fun than actually going do it.. So..

I love when plans get cancelled. I usually regret it the second I make them.

I had friend who would cancel last minute...even asked me to change days one time and then cancelled...lesson learned, I would only include him when we had a group
"Hey, we will be at this place at 7, love to see you."...if they come great, if not, we are not inconvenienced
