Because

I want to
I don’t want to try and cram into a civic
I like to see where I’m going in stead of the back of your wife’s minivan
I want to
To hook up to my camper, boat, trailer Or whatever the frick else I feel like dragging around
To piss off snowflakes

I like sitting higher so I can seat surf in traffic during the summer. Many thanks to the girls that prop a leg on the dash.

Bought a truck 4 months ago after years of the same mindset. Don’t have a boat (will get someday), work inside and don’t require the use of a truck, virtually have no use except to carry my golf clubs around. Love driving it. Tons of room, don’t have to worry going through rain puddles, and drives smooth. Do not regret

Yeah I had one and was commuting a good distance so I got rid of it. Now I’ve moved close to my job and I’m getting the truck itch again.

A large percentage of baws work in construction, oil & gas, or plants. All of those jobs, at some point or another, require living in a travel trailer near some shitty jobsite out of town for a few months. So, most baws in those fields drive trucks which can haul trailers. Those that don’t work in those fields often have boats or rvs to pull or live in rural areas where they need a truck bed to haul gardening supplies.

A truck is a very useful thing to have.

I had the same mindset as OP for a period of time but then after cramming myself into compact cars for a decade or so I got over it.

I mean, sometimes it’s good to have a truck when you need to haul stuff. But 90% of the time, you’re not hauling stuff.

So 10% of the time... I am hauling stuff? Imagine thinking this does not meet the threshold to need a pickup truck.

By the OPs thinking, why do cars have trunks? 90% of the time you aren’t putting anything in there. Why need a trunk.

Also, why have an SUV with 3rd row seating? No way more than 10% of the time is it needed unless you are Octomom.

Basically, OP is a tard

What man, especially in south La, doesn’t own a truck unless they are super rich?

Pulling a boat, utility trailer, Travel Trailer

Hauling wood, dirt, other things for home projects

Going hunting needing to go on bad dirt roads and haul all your gear.

I just can’t imagine a man in South La or other southern towns without one

I haul stuff from time to time, so I need a truck. Not a hard concept at all.
