Why do poor people buy so much crap at gas stations?

They drive there. So obviously they could drive to walmarks if they wanted. Yet they choose to pay 100% more at the gas station. I go in occasionally just for a fountain drink or something for the road, they're buying random groceries, and powerballs of course.
Guess they are poor for a reason, money management not their forte.

I watched a guy dig in the trash can outside of a Shell station this morning, then walk inside and buy a pack of cigarettes. He counted the amount out in nickels and pennies.

This is something i have also noticed. Its like they buy food daily at the gas station instead of going to make groceries

People are way overthinking this. I'd rather not pay those prices, but if it saves me a trip to publix or walmart and I'm in a hurry, it's not that big of a deal. Shopping solely there is another story.

Dave Ramsey talks about this. The poors act poor and stay that way for a reason. It isn't the fact the world isn't fair, it's the fact they suck at handling money.

This is just inaccurate. The mark up on Vienna sausages is 28% AT MOST. But don't let the facts get in the way, continue your "I'm smarter than everyone" rant about shite you don't understand. After all, you're the economic genius here!

there are a few reasons why.
1. Because they have to go inside to pay cash for their gas because they aint got no credit card
2. While they're inside they buy supper for the little shite heads back in the car...Cheetoes and Milk Duds.
