The signaling of virtue, for the white chicks. Fear for the black chicks.

The purple haired crowd corrupts the others with fear so they can win social media virtue points.

Blacks generally have a genuine fear of the virus.

The purple haired woke woman (and man) has built her identity around Covid. Since there's a democrat in office, there really hasn't been an Outrage Du Jour for her to attach her vapid personality to, so she's sticking with Covid until something new comes along.

Someone should just make a master thread titled "Why Does He/She/Them Do/Like Things That I Don't"

You see many blacks driving around solo, masked.

for woke women, its tribalism. It is a signal that no matter how bad their leader may seem, the threat of the virus is worse. Blind loyalty, if you will.

We have a mental health issue and we are just ignoring it.

Why are you not worried about the mental health of our country?

It’s an us vs them mentality

The mask puts you in the virtue signaling black square social media changing group whereas the ones they aren’t , to them, are the enemy and the white make patriarchy MAGA trumpers who are evil and enslaving to minorities

It seems that the people wearing them are the obsessed ones.

For teens, it's a security blanket for the insecure as well. It's wild how many kids/teens still wear them.

I saw a few homeless with masks over the weekend. I don't know how they were tolerating it with the heat and the shite breath. Very inspiring to see such dedication

fear

While this is a good starting point, the "fear" needs exploring.

Yes, fear of the virus and memory (dare I say nostalgia about that fear) of that fear are big. However, there is also "fear" of being included in the wrong team.
