Why do people get offended when you bash their religion?

Let's analyze this.
First, we know that the act of, being offended, is an emotional weakness stemming from a person's own insecurities. If a person wasn't insecure about something, they wouldn't get offended. ( For example, god would never be offended by anything because he is completely secure)
That being said, if a person is offended by someone bashing their religion, it is safe to assume that they are insecure in their faith.
So, in short, the person that is offended the most is the least faithful.
ETA: for the record I am a Christian

I think they are just offended at you being rude to them. You could care less about their feelings and are purposely trying to hurt them, so they get upset. I think that's how it normally works. Why do you feel the need to be an a-hole to people who otherwise are just trying to get by?
