In the world of cell phones, is it really necessary?

For keeping track of how long you are cooking something.

So I don't have to put a clock in the kitchen or look at my cell phone.

Necessary? No, but I like it

Sounds like someone is having trouble with the time change?

Especially when your hands are dirty.

Plus, if they're going to have the ability to time and or set a temperature, what will you do with the screen when it's not in use? Might as well make it a clock.

I know it's hard to believe, but a lot of things in life existed before cell phones

What is it with you people that are so fricking against other people getting the time from something other than a phone?

I'll get my time wherever I want....BUD!

Bought a grill with a bottle opener feature. I think all appliances need bottle openers as standard feature. A clock, not so much.

If I ever learn how to weld - half my shite will have bottle openers on it... the other half will have coat hooks.

Why would a microwave company take the risk of removing the the clock? Because a microwave already needs a timer, adding the clock adds no expense. Why risk people not buying your microwave because it doesn't have a clock? There is literally no benefit of removing this feature.

OP has obviously never dropped his phone into a pot of gumbo cooking on the stove.

Trust me, you do not want your phone around a stovetop or microwave.
