You don't know what a hipster is.

White guilt. If they convince themselves that they're poor then they'll understand the plight of black people and, even better, black people will understand them.

I have no problem being called a hipster hater. I also hate cats and when frickers put the toilet paper roll on backwards. My buddy also ate my last 6 finger sandwiches the other day and I made him leave

I'd bet my bottom dollar that hardcore black people would rather rob them than be friends with them. Hell, white people make fun of them, so why shouldn't black people?

I am really curious to hear from the black dudes on the OT what they think of hipsters.

I know it's not a fricking hippie.

And I also know that anything that deviates from what the posters on this board wear and is fashionable will almost certainly be deemed hipster, because what they're really saying is "it's different...kill it." that was the point

I was trying to write from their perspective, not reality.

It's nothing more than a trend.

If I wear Filson, MJs, and White's boots, I am part of the establishment, but if they wear that stuff without shoelaces and add Aviators, they are the pinnacle of hipster-ness. Wearing lace-ups without laces is dumb and just inviting a sprained ankle

I just don't understand why they want to act poor, yet wear $700 in clothing every day

What isn't? That's why we call it the fashion trend.

I don't think it is just a fashion trend, but here is an example of the irony anyway

Only hipsters I've ever known were a poor music and youth group minister couple. They were awesome people

They lived in a cute house but everything they owned and wore was vintage

Ok.. It's a Buick.

Remember the 90's and people shopping at thrift stores in the grunge fashion trend?

The 60's and the hippie fashion?

In the 70's we wore bell bottom jeans and they were only cool when they raveled at the bottoms and were accompanied with old concert T-shirt and long hair.

It's just fashion.

I need a ruling on the field for the bands of smelly, all white and dread locked, quasi-musically talented youth that hang out on the levee in New Orleans in front of Jackson Square. Theres always a girl in the group who looks like she may have been pretty at some point and some dude with a dog. They've asked me for my leftover food before when leaving a restaurant. It would be tough to call them homeless, but they aren't quite hipster. Maybe they're hipsters without means for an iPad. Regardless, I get the sense that these kids have parents somewhere that miss them.
