I do what I want:
I wear cargo shorts, I eat carbs, I love Pitbulls and T-Swizzle is awesome.

I can't stand to see someone sell themselves short by simple things such as the clothing they wear. Cargo shorts just look silly. So do crossfit posters.

I blame the broken home. With so many kids growing up with no father in the house to talk some sense in to them, steer them away from douchiness, and teach them the Art Manliness, they grow up with just a moms influence. And single mothers do their best but are more and more getting a track record as less than stellar at raising fine upstanding young men.
So, with in increase of clueless douche's out there, those of us that know the do's and don'ts of the world have to call out the trashiness where we see it.

Public Safety concern, like avoiding drinking water in Mexico. While it's not for sure you're going to get injured and/or die, the likelihood is greatly increased, so it's best to just avoid it.
