Cats and dogs largely came to us willingly being smart enough to see what a resourceful and smart creature watching after you could benefit your species. Ducks don't serve humans willingly.

Pigs have character too and aren't necessarily filthy animals anymore than dogs are. I feel bad for the situation of the pigs, but anything they can do, a dog can do better. Plus next to some primates, the pig is the animal most similar to us. They're just so damn delicious though.
