Why did they stop making the 2 door Tahoe/Yul

Because its alot easier to just open a door instead of trying to climb over the front seat like an idiot.

Because the Tahoe type vehicle took the place of the mini van/family sedan for the middle class soccer moms, 2 door is not convenient for a family vehicle, and the Wrangler TJ filled most of the demand for a 2 door due to improved ride comfort + removable top/doors (YJ was shite). In short, the demand wasn't there.

However, I think the next company that brings back a full sized 2 door could make a good run at it, especially with 20+ MPG.

I had a full size Bronco. It was a fun truck, but two doors got really old.

Yeah, I could see two doors getting old, but if the back opens up fully with fold up jumper seats, it could actually be convenient for someone without kids. The Japanese had it right from the start in the FJ:
