So they wanted to take out one person.
Seems like it would have been much easier to send an assasin to his house or arrange for a car wreck.
Nope, that would be too easy. So instead they shoot down a plane full of people and leave themselves open to questions

I was two when it happened.
There are several eye witness reports that conflict with the official reports and the FBI tampered with evidence. Very suspicious if you ask me.

They didn't want to make the public suspicious and draw too much unwanted attention to their evil plans.
After all, isn't it a lot easier cover-up shooting down a 747 with over 200 people aboard right off the coast of of New York than it is to stage a home invasion?
