Why tell someone to be there for X time and then don't see them for 20-30 minutes after that? This shite is so annoying.

My last appointment for a post-op check up had me wait a little over and hour for a 5 minute sit down with him.

This is absolutely not true outside of an urgent care or ER

A lot of it has to do with front office staff scheduling 15 minutes for an appt that takes 30-40min

Nurses on their phones looking at Facebook and TD rather than helping to keep things running efficiently.

Because the patients ahead of you have 15 more problems than they said when they booked their appointment.

Also, the hospital is calling for patients in the ER.

Those important pathology results have to be viewed and signed off on.

Most importantly, the doctor has to spend twice as much time as before dealing with the dumb arse EMR.

Partly because shite happens that you can't control. Partly because most doctors, like most lawyers, are terrible at business management.

Agreed. We should be able to just kick you and any other patients out of the exam rooms when you won't shut the frick up. That way everybody gets in on time.

Such nostalgic nonsense to think your doc should actually listen to everything you have to say. "Here's your 15 minutes. Get the frick out!"

They overbook themselves. Most I know are spread so thin. rounding, procedures, emergencies, clinic.

Exactly. The people who complain about waiting are 99% of the time the same people who complain about the doctor not spending enough time with them.

OTOH when you're sitting there twiddling your thumbs and you overhear the doctor on the phone with his stockbroker....

The more people they can squeeze in, the more $$. I went to a doctors appointment once and signed in and saw 2 other people on the sign in sheet for the same doc, at the same appointment time as me.
