Why are the patios on newly constructed homes so small?

I close on my new house in Copper Mill in three weeks. I love everything about the house except the patio. The patio looks like a sidewalk. Why is it so small? The weird thing is that the patio is wired for tv and cable. How the hell am I gonna watch tv on a sidewalk.

Probably because it isn't a custom home and a cookie cutter choose between a few floor plans. You can upgrade to a better patio if you pay for it

Because it costs just as much to build "heated square feet as it doe to build under roof....and heated sells for a whole lot more $

If you can afford a house in Copper Mill you can afford to pour some more concrete to make it bigger. I added on to mine making it 12x24 instead of 10x10 for about $300. Built a cover for about $1500 and I'm planning to screen it in and run wire for lights, tv, and fans after hunting season.

Because a lawn chair and an ice chest full of natty lights don't take up a lot of space.

I'm buying a new house cause I just got divorced. If you could get her to give me one last bj for the road, that would be great.

Tiny arse front porches, too. Just for show, but they stage them with rocking chairs which makes you realize how ridiculously small they are.

Why bother if you can't use it?

Because sophisticated people hang out on their front porch or in their front yard.
