I witnessed a discussion last night about two guys in middle management at a major corporation giving a guy shite who is an AC repairman. The AC guy didn't let on that he now owns the business and what he makes annually but I know all of the individuals personally and know that the AC guy is in much better financially than these other two clowns.

My buddy that lives in Ohio has a HVAC company. Started out by himself. Has 11 trucks/crews. With the winter they are having, he is making BANK!

Because somewhere along the line (baby boomers?) going to college instead of doing manual labor became as much a part of the American Dream as the house with the white picket fence.

I think it's a real shame that honest, productive work is so looked down upon while we worship people that produce nothing.

You do realize the majority of these people doing this prob still live with their parents?

I've been saying this for a couple years now.
In order to post here you should be required to post your:
age
sex
race
education level
and what you currently do to earn money.

It would weed out a lot of this back and forth trolling shite.

Why does anyone care who looks down on them? If you enjoy what you do that should be enough.

Because part of the reason we have this college bubble and too many people with worthless degrees is because the working class became so looked down upon. If we hadn't made such a big deal about 4 year degrees, maybe some of those people that got worthless 4 year degrees would have gotten useful 2 year degrees/certificates instead and be living on their own instead of with their parents.

I don't think skilled blue collar labor is looked down upon at all. Plumbers, Electricians and HVAC guys are usually some of the most well off people in any given city.

This, but unskilled blue collar jobs are looked down upon. Everyone assumes they were not smart enough or didn't go to college.

Because working outside is "trashy", baw. Just like cargo shorts, salt life stickers, and eating at Chili's_signed, the OT.

Cargo shorts, salt life stickers, and Chili's are trashy though.

Working an honest job for money is not trashy

I'm a manager for a local bank and revealed to some coworkers that I don't have a college degree. It's amazing how they reacted but I'm still the first person they call if a question needs answering.

I admire and sometimes envy blue collar workers.

But let's not pretend blue collar types don't take their revenge on those of us in the professional world.

Dress like an attorney and walk into a gun store, for example. Good times will ensue.
