My church just tried to milk them for all they're worth. They must have had 5 different collections, sickening.

Obviously you don't believe so there is no point discussing this with you.

What's the punishment? The Bible is a fascinating book really. I haven't read it in over 20 years though so my memory is a little hazy. The Lord was a vegenful dude if my memory is correct.

The punishment for sin is death.

We had a preacher who liked to stand in the back and shake everyone's hand as they left.

Which is why on my infrequent forays to church I always check out the side doors for my escape plan.

No. Our priest welcomed in everyone and said he was very thankful for the large crowd.

I hate more than anything during worship when the pastor says "
Go and find someone and tell them good morning !" Makes my skin crawl. My social anxiety skyrockets.

Heaven or hell, the choice is yours. God provided us a way to get to heaven. If you don't take it, that's your choice.

Seems very un Christian like to call out a certain group of people.

I'm offended.

Actually, a pastor is supposed to take care of his congregation, much like a Shepard over his flock. So trying to get his flock to stay together more than two days out of the year isn't un Christian like.

Oh and BTW, quit being so sensitive.

Didn't Jesus teach spiritual freedom? What do you think he would think of most churches today?

Kind of ironic Jesus didn't like churches bc they were a money grab and corrupt. Someone tell me what has changed today. And why do you need a church to profess your Love for God?

Haha you're so off and it's not even close. Not every church is a Joel Osteen gimmick. People pay what tithes they can if God leads them to it, and my church preaches Biblical sound doctrine. Maybe you can find a church that does this, there are more out there than you think.

We went to Easter Sunday for the first time in 10 years as a kind gesture because some friends invited us.

Pastor said something along the lines of "thanks to the newcomers who came today, we hope the best for you. For those that didn't come, we pray that they learn how to prioritize their lives".

Definitely seemed tacky to me, especially since my boss is at his aunt' funeral today.

The Bible. Many, many times actually.

Being a part of a body of believers (what the Bible calls the Church) to worship together and keep each other accountable is an integral part of the Christian faith.

It actually states this is Hebrews, anyone who acts like you can stay away from church and lead a daily Christian life is incorrect. Even Jesus frequented churches on his pilgrimage.

One church where they were acting inappropriate and he flipped tables and now they think every church is like this. Not to mention the Pharisees were running the churches back then.

I'll play. So you work on Sunday mornings and evenings, and also on Wednesday nights? If you truly wanted to go to church you could, and imo if you know Jesus and believe he is who he says he is then I think you're heaven bound according to the Bible.

You clearly don't understand salvation or are being willfully ignorant.

Do you understand the insanity behind teaching people to "believe what I believe or you're going to a place where you will burn for eternity with the devil?" That's always been my #1 issue with religions in general. The end all be all teachings.

At the end of the day lol we ain't the ones you got to answer to. God sent his only son to die for your sins and you can't get your last ads up once a week and say thank you?
