How is this a serious question?
Give Hathcock the modern weapons and tech Kyle had and he would be a god.
Kyle also had more opportunity to kill in a fairly open urban desert vs Vietnam jungles.

I think the real question is with the popularity of American sniper, does Hathcock get a movie made about him? (Assuming there is no Hathcock movie)

Kyle himself said Carlos soo

Tom Berenger did a movie loosely based on him in the early 90's
Hollywood would frick up a Hathcock movie instead of staying true to it just like they fricked up American Sniper.

I would have to give the nod to Hathcock.
Just from an equipment standpoint Kyle had a big advantage with the firearms, optics, radio, gps, etc..available to him.

I know. I have read all about it and that's why I said Kyle had more opportunities to kill than Hathcock did.

During a volunteer mission days before the end of his first deployment, he crawled over 1,500 yards of field to shoot a high-ranking NVA officer.[18] He was not informed of the details of the mission until he accepted it.[14] This effort took four days and three nights, without sleep, of constant inch-by-inch crawling.[18] Hathcock said he was almost stepped on as he lay camouflaged with grass and vegetation in a meadow shortly after sunset.[2] At one point he was nearly bitten by a bamboo viper but had the presence of mind to avoid moving and giving up his position.[18] As the officer exited his encampment, Hathcock fired a single shot that struck the officer in the chest, killing him
ETA: I think it took him like 3 days to crawl in and out and complete this mission while just surviving on shots of water from his canteen or something to that effect. I forgot all of the details.

Simo Hayha (sp?) still probably the best ever. Hathcock probably the best American.

And Simo Hayha AKA The White Death would laugh at those kill counts.
505 confirmed kills....wow!
