I need to get a new termite contract for my house in New Orleans. Only company I have received a quote from was Terminix for their Sentricon system. They have an upfront cost of $650 and then its $325 per year. Seemed a little high too me. Anyone else have someone a little cheaper that also does a good job?

I don't have one at my current house. However I've always heard good things about Terminix.

Sentricon is not as effective as the traditional trench and rod around the perimeter of your house and you should get the same contract. A lot of companies have moved away from sentricon all together.

Upfront sounds about right but the annual charge seems a bit high

Has anyone ever collected on a termite contract? I have heard they always find a reason to not pay.

Was thinking the same thing. I know they base it off the liner square footage of your house and its not like I live in a mansion, its a 2 story 3,000 square foot home.

The contract is more important than the cost. Some companies will be much cheaper but have limits on what they pay out.

Also as someone else said the traditional treatment is usually better.

Terminix is horrible. I hate everything they have ever done.

And yet, they are my provider. I want to punch the spray guy in the face every time he shows up, which is pretty rare.

I have J&J exterminating, I didn't pay the initial fee but I think it was around 1000.00. I either pay 100 or 150 annually I'm not really sure.
