He just doesn't know any better. If you have a grandfather that served in WWII then you would understand. It's easily proven by looking at how the Silent Generation was a "we" society whereas, today it is a "me" society.

My grandfather was 16 years old when he enlisted as a belly gunner. Short stocky guy but would eat nails.

Delta is the top dog in all military circles. Also, was your friend a Ranger or a Green Beret? There are no Ranger Battalions at Ft. Bragg.

Small words from a small man

He was in 3rd Battalion at Ft Benning for about 8 years before moving to 3 RTB at Elgin AFB in Ft Walton.

He went and got his SCUBA bubble (something I can remember him being very proud of.)

Worked on his land/nav while there and tried out for Delta. We are just reuniting after years of commmunicating with his mother.
