Who here has taken a vacation from USA to Italy?

Long range plans of doing this in next 5 years. Of course, I would like to see Ferrari and Lamborghini museums /factories. Any experience here? Any advice, guides?

So you don't care about any of the history from thousands of years ago, just the past 100 years or so?

Your thread title sucks by the way.

If that's why you want to go to Italy, save a few thousand and go to Las Vegas for a weekend. Plenty of nice car museums there. You can also see Paris, Venice, and New York City all within a mile of each other.

Exactly my point. He didn't ask anything about Rome, Pisa, Venice, or even Tuscany. Or even sites of Ancient Rome.

"I am going from The U.S of A to go see expensive cars".

Lived there for 3 years.

Go to Rome. It's one of the greatest cities on the planet. Cinque Terre is awesome. It is 5 picturesque towns along the west coast connected by short train rides. Skip Pisa. It sucks. There's great skiing/snowboarding in the north. Don't spend more than a day in Venice. Not too much to do. Vicenza American High School football rules!

I'm looking to go there now since my Egypt trip is obviously cancelled. Not sure if I want to get an apartment in Rome for 7 days or do Rome, Naples, Florence, and Cinque.

I would do 4 days in Rome, 2 in Florence, 1 in Cinque Terre.

Between the towns? No clue. Once you get off the train, each one individually is pretty small.

Thinking about taking a trip to Detroit.

Would like to see the old Ford and Chevrolet factories.

Ahh, Italy, Rome, Florence, Venice are a must; go to a play or opera at Arena de Verona, built around same time as Coliseum in Rome....go to Monza and the car factories--worth the trip.

A walking trail, known as Sentiero Azzurro ("Light Blue Trail"), connects the five villages. The trail from Riomaggiore to Manarola is called the Via Dell'Amore ("Love Walk") and is wheelchair-friendly. The stretch from Manarola to Corniglia (still closed in June 2012 for ongoing repairs since the October 2011 damage)[2] is the easiest to hike, although the main trail into Corniglia finishes with a climb of 368 steps.

Looks like it is 12km.

12 km? This is 'Murica day. We don't use km. Have some respect.
